Abstract
452,769. Plate heat exchangers. AHLBORN AKT.-GES., E., 22, Luntzelstrasse, Hildesheim, Germany. Feb. 22, 1935, No. 5705. Addition to 413,811. [Class 64 (iii)] The plates and frames described in the parent Specification are assembled to form, e.g. in a milk pasteurizer, a heat-maintaining section C between the preheating and the heating sections A, B. The milk enters the preheating section through a pipe 1 and leaves through a pipe 6 connected to the heater section through which hot water is circulated by a pump 25. From the heater section the milk flows through the heat-maintaining section, the frames of which are preferably thicker than those in the other sections, and the preheating section to an outlet pipe 22. The frames of the preheating and the heating sections are of spiral form and provided with rubber-covered steel reinforcement and bridge-pieces 46, Fig. 2, and fluid ports 30, 31, and are mounted on a bar and a clamping screw passing through holes 33, 32 respectively in the frames. The heat-maintaining frames are similarly mounted and reinforced and provided with bridge-pieces 47, Fig. 4.
