403,232. Materials for making coke. ELKINGTON, H. D., 20, Holborn, London.- (Ges. f³r Teerverwertung, 49, Varzinerstrasse, Meiderich, Duisburg, Germany.) Jan 9, 1933, No. 747. [Class 55 (ii).] A high grade coke, suitable for use as electrode carbon, is made by coking petroleum residues, or residues from the distillation of brown coal tar, peat tar, or wood tar, or residues from cracking these products, which residues are solid and infusible, together with the addition of materials which are liquid at the coking temperature such as coal tar pitch, brown coal tar pitch, or oils ; or solid brown coal extraction residues which are liquid in the warm, or liquid or fusible residues of the distillation of petroleum, peat, or wood.
