Coking processes.-Non caking or anthracite fines are agglomerated with about 5 per cent of tars pitch, or asphalt, and the briquettes obtained are suddenly raised to a temperature of at least 700‹ C., whereby an artificial anthracite and a gas containing a high proportion of hydrogen are obtained. The same process may be applied to the transformation into artificial anthracite of the semi-coke obtained by the low temperature carbonization of rich coals.
