Abstract

341,877. Making coke. TEMPLE, C. G. WODEHOUSE-, Green Lanes, Pound Hill, Worth, Sussex. July 12, 1929, Nos. 21413, 24026, and 26661. [Class 55 (ii).] Semi-coke is produced by mixing low-value absorbent solid carbonaceous material such as coal dust, slack, gas-works coke, lignite, torbanite, raphilite, cannel or shale with not more than 20 per cent of a carbonaceous binding material such as petroleum distillation residue, tarry residues, pitch bitumen, Trinidad asphalt, Manjak or the substance known under the registered Trade Mark "Gilsonite" and subjecting the mixture without briquetting to a temperature not exceeding 550‹ C. According to the first Provisional Specification, the mixture may if desired be briquetted before being heated and the second constituent may be present to the extent of 30 per cent. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 682/96, [Class 50, Fuel, Manufacture of], 19750/14, 142,443 and 222,484, [all in Class 55 (ii), Gas manufacture &c.].
