397,318. Balancing moving parts. BRITISH CONTINENTAL MOTORS, Ltd., 150, St. Vincent Street, Glasgow. Oct. 7, 1932, No. 27908. Convention date, Jan. 8. [Class 122 (iii).] In a multicylinder internal-combustion engine having sleeve valves actuated by connections 27 to wobble cranks 26 formed on a valveactuating shaft 31, the rocking couples produced in the longitudinal plane of the engine are balanced by weights in the form of plungers 51, 52 reciprocated in fixed guides by eccentrics 51, 52 of opposed phase on the shaft. Counterweights 40, 41 on the valve shaft balance the rocking couple due to centrifugal force. Specifications 300,168, [Class 7 (vi), Internal-combustion engines, Valves &c. for], and 391,035 are referred to.
