268,342. British Thomson-Houston Co., - Ltd., (Assignees of Stevenson, A. R.). March 26, 1926, [Convention date]. Oscillating pumps. - A balanced oscillating cylinder pump having the centre of gravity of the cylinder located between the pivot of the cylinder and the shaft is provided with extensions 25, 26 from the cylinder towards the shaft carrying counterweights. The piston is actuated: by an eccentric 2, and the piston and eccentric when in the mid position are balanced bv weights 20, 21 carried by the driving shaft. Two cylinders are shown; they are pressed down by spring 13 upon flat faces having ports co-operating with their inlet ports; their exhaust valves are covered bv mufflers 18. Specification 244,768, [Class 35, Dynamo-electric generators &c.], is referred to.
