Abstract

394,588. Liquid-fuel injectors. BAJ, A., 16, Via Pado Giovio, Milan, Italy. Dec. 9, 1932, No. 35013. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1931. [Class 7 (iii).] In a fuel-admission device there are provided two or more fluid actuated valves which open in succession as the pressure of the fuel rises. In the construction shown in the Figure, liquid fuel is supplied through a channel 3 to a chamber 7 in which needle valves 5, 6 control passages 8, 9. From the passage 8 the fuel is conveyed to an annular channel 10, passages 11, and outlet orifices 12 whilst the passage 9 opens into a chamber 13 from which channels 14 lead to outlet orifices 15. The valves 5, 6 are differently loaded by adjustable springs 16, 17 acting on bell-crank levers 20, 21, and the lift of the valves is regulated by bolts 22, 23, or by springs.
