Abstract
391,972. Preventing skidding. SCHWIETERT, C., 32, Deurloostraat, Amsterdam. April 28, 1932, No. 12225. Convention date, May 16, 1931. [Class 108 (ii).] A vehicle antiskid device includes a shoe 2 integral with guides 1 situated near the extremities of the shoe and which co-operate with guides 3 situated at each end of a rectangular box secured to the vehicle axle near a road wheel. The shoe is lowered on exerting a pull on a cable 17 which rotates a lever 12 and a bell-crank lever 5 mounted on a spindle 6 against the action of a spring 14. The lever 5 is connected to a similar lever 8 and each is connected by rods 4, 10, respectively, to the shoe. A spring 13 is interposed in the cord 17. Two such devices may be mounted on the rear axle of the vehicle and may be operated severally or simultaneously from the driver's seat. The shoe is faced with hair and an elastic buffer.
