Hand and other personal actuation. - Dust vans and other vehicles having a brake operated as by a pedal 9 from the driver's seat are provided with a hand-lever 15 connected by a chain 12 or other flexible connection to the lever which carries the brake block whereby the brakes may be applied also from the ground. A rack 17 is provided for retaining the lever 15 in position.
