Abstract
390,417. Cylinders. PESCARA, R. P., 23, Rue Lesueur, Paris. Sept. 20, 1932, No. 26169. Convention date, Oct. 24, 1931. [Class 7 (ii).] In the cylinder 3 of a two-stroke engine, particularly of a direct-acting air compresser, two sets of exhaust ports 6, 7 enable use to be made of the hot exhaust products which flow into a heat-exchanger chamber 8 provided with a constricted exit 9 ; the remaining exhaust products and the excess scavenging air are subsequently blown through the ports 7. The chamber 8 contains a coiled pipe 10 through which a fluid, to be heated, passes. A non- return valve may operate between the ports 6 and the chamber 8. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an engine-driven slide valve controlling the ports 6, 7. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
