Abstract
150,949. Simpson, J., and McHardy, W. B. March 6, 1920. Heating charge.-A number of tubes are secured at each end in tube-plates 4. which fit into a casing 1 having flanged ports 2, which are attached to the cylinders and receive the exhaust gases, and an outlet 3. Air enters the tubes at 6 and escapes by passages 7, 8, 9 to the carburettor. The tubes may contain twisted strips of brass which serve as baffles. The casing is in two parts with an expansion joint 10 and may have an outer casing through which the air passes before it enters the tubes.
