[Class 135.] In a construction in which a high-lift safety valve a and an isolating valve c are so arranged that when the safety valve a is opened due to excessive pressure in a supply pipe e such pipe is cut off automatically by the isolating valve c from the vessel being supplied, the valves a, c are entirely separate from one another, but when the safety valve a is closed it holds the isolating valve c off its seat. As shown, the isolating valve c is of the ball type, the ball riding on a rib h in the valve casing and being held off its seat by a stem d on the safety valve a when the latter is closed. A leak aperture i is provided. In a modification, the ball valve c is replaced by a double-beat or equilibrium valve.
