Abstract

527,938. Diaphragm valves. SAUNDERS VALVE CO., Ltd., and SAUNDERS, P. K. April 24, 1939, No. 12233. [Class 135] A diaphragm valve of the weir type has the diaphragm 6 attached to a diaphragm compressor 8 by a central stud 10 passing through a central hole in the diaphragm and has the seating part of the weir off-set from the centre of the diaphragm. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the weir has an enlarged central part 12 with a central recess 13 which accommodates the head of the stud 10. A drain plug 14 is provided to enable accumulation of foreign matter to be removed. In a modification the weir is mainly semi-circular in shape.
