Abstract
372,482. Stop valves. BENKISER, E., 19, Giesshausstrasse, Ludwigsburg, Germany. March 17, 1931, No. 8152. [Class 135.] In a straight-way stop valve having a closure member h, Figs. 1 and 2, with a convex curved closure surface i adapted to close over inlet and outlet apertures n, simultaneously, in a corresponding curved seating surface, the closure surfaces are formed as segments of a cylinder, or sphere, and are provided with parallel lateral plane guide faces, as shown in Fig. 2. The casing is lined with leador soft metal m, and the closure member covered with indiarubber or lead. The inlet and outlet branches leading from the closure surfaces may be expanded conically in the outward directions, as indicated in dotted lines.
