[Class 135] The valve plate 3 of a check-valve, seen from underneath in the Figure, is controlled in its movement between the valve seat and an overlying guard by a spring device comprising two or more integral arcuate arms 4 (only one shown), formed within the central aperture of the plate 3, to the outer end of each of which arms 4 is attached at 5 a further arcuate portion 6 integral with an annular plate portion 7, the plates 7 being superposed and anchored to the centre of the valve seat by a collar under the valve-plate guard. The two portions 6 are interlaced after the manner of a double-thread screw.
