534,515. Fire extinguishing apparatus; valves. KIDDE & CO., Inc., W. March 6, 1940, No. 4222. Convention date, March 13, 1939. [Class 47 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIX] A fire extinguishing system employing liquid CO 2 is furnished with air escape valves normally open but responsive to a fall in temperature whereby they are closed as soon as the air has escaped. As shown, the pipe line 3a, supplied with liquid CO 2 from a source 1a, has an outlet 4a and is furnished with air escape valves 5a. As shown in Fig. 3 the valve stem 13 is carried by a bellows 11 which contract to close the valve when the liquid CO 2 reaches them.
