Abstract
458,951. Combined pressure-regulating and safety cut-off valves. WAYTE, W. H., High House, Thorpe St. Andrew, and HIGHAM, A. L., Cliff House, St. Leonard's Road, both in Norwich. Nov. 21, 1935, No. 32272. [Class 135] A combined gas governor and safety cut-off valve comprises a main casing a with an inner chamber i having two openings kl, n<1> through which gas must pass in succession on its way from the main inlet b to the main outlet c, and a loaded diaphragm or like pressure responsive member e connected by a spindle x to valves l, m controlling the openings k<1>, n<1> respectively, the spindle passing through a cover h for manual operation to restore the gas supply after the valve m has closed due to an interruption in the supply. The diaphragm e is clamped against a flange in the casing a by a threaded ring f and may be loaded by spring means instead of the weight g. Alternatively, the resilience of the diaphragm alone may be relied on. The chamber i is formed in an inverted L-shaped member having an apertured partition k and a threaded end cover n in which the opening n<1> is formed. The casing a has a removable cover o.
