[Class 112.] In a machine for forming overedge stitching, the holder a for the looper bar is controlled at the rear end by a supporting roller d which can be vertically reciprocated to increase the vertical stroke of the loop. The roller is carried by a shaft e guided in vertical slots g, g<1> of the guide-plates b, b<1> of the member a. The roller is reciprocated twice for each rotation of the main shaft by a cam groove m, bell crank i. and hub h. The holder a has an arcuate slot c in which the roller d works so that the looper can make the usual horizontal movements.
