[Class 112.] A device for adjusting the height of the needlebar of a sole sewing-machine according to the position of the presser-foot comprises a lever m pivoted to a connecting-rod k at l and to the needlebar e, b at n, and a lever u pivoted to the machine casing at u<1> and engaging the lever m. The upper ledge of the lever u is cam shaped and engages a roller t<11> mounted on a bent-lever s, t which is connected to the presser-bar by a pivoted rod r or rack and pinion. When the presser-foot d<1> rests on a thick sole, Fig. 2, the lever u is depressed and rocks the lever m about its pivot l and lifts the needle-bar e, b.
