Abstract

338,059. Union Special Maschinenfabrik Ges. Jan. 9, 1929, [Convention date]. Loop-stitching.-The plane of oscillation of an overedge looper is displaceable to different angular positions relative to the plane of the work; support without interfering with its cooperation with the under looper, to enable needles of differing diameters to be used. The overedge looper 1 is mounted on a carrier 2 attached to a shaft 3 oscillating in a bracket 4 to co-operate with a needle 6, under looper 21, and a loopholder 20. The bracket 4 is provided with a curved cylindrical face 8 fitting to a similarly curved face 9 of the frame 13 to which it is held by screw bolts 10. The centre of the radius of curvature 12 of the face 9 lies at the intersecting point of the axis of the shaft 3 and the vertical plane containing the needle. By shifting the bracket 4 by loosening the bolts 10, the looper 1 can oscillate in various paths to suit various needles 6, 7, as illustrated in Figs. 4 and 5.
