377,914. Projectile fuzes. SCHWOB FRERES ET CIE, SOC. ANON., La Chaux-de-Fonds, and VARAUD, A., 109, Route de Lyon, Geneva, both in Switzerland. July 30, 1931, No. 6037/32. Addition to and divided on 371,247 (under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 8, 1931). [Class 9(i).] Relates to delay-action projectile fuzes having a striker and a weight slidably mounted in two separate longitudinal passages and so interconnected that, as described in the parent Specification, the momentum of the projectile must be absorbed by the obstacle before the fuze can operate. According to the invention, the striker 3 and the weight 5 are interconnected by an oscillating lever 11 engaging on one side in a notch 6 in the weight 5 and on the other side holding the striker back against a spring 13. On discharge, a centrifugal bolt 10 releases the weight 5 ; on impact the weight moves forward by inertia, and the lever 11 slips from the notch 6 into a second notch 7 also in the weight 5, while the striker is temporarily pressed back against a stop 14 ; and when the shock of impact is over, the spring 13 drives the striker 3 forward and the weight 5 backward until the striker slips past the lever 11 and is forced on to the percussion cap 12.
