[Class 51 (i).] The compressed air supplied to the explosion chamber 2 of a gas turbine 1 is cooled in apparatus 9 before admission to the chamber. The air is compressed in two rotary compressors 3, 5 arranged in series. The heated water from the cooler 9 may be used as feedwater for the cooling jackets of the turbine in which steam may be generated.
