Abstract

376,972. Battery lamps. OLDHAM & SON, Ltd. and DARBY, G. H., 36, Hyde Road, Denton, near Manchester. Aug. 4, 1931, No. 22113. [Class 39 (ii).] A miner's lamp, a part of which is rotatable for switching purposes, is provided with two cells and a plate 1 which is fitted with an insulating disc 5. Contacts 9 fitted in the disc serve for connecting two opposite poles of the cells to the bulb, the other two poles being connected together by contacts 6 fitted in the plate. A lug 12 carrying a bulbholder 13 is housed within a groove 11 in the disc and is connected to one contact 9 through a screw 14 and a spring 14<1>. A spring 16 for making contact with the centre contact of the lamp is housed within a groove 15 in the disc and is connected by a screw 17 to the other contact 9. The contacts 6 may be integral with the plate or secured thereto by screws and pass through holes in the disc. Washers 18, 20 insulate the current-carrying parts.
