Abstract

169,503. Turquand, F. J. June 23, 1920. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Connections.-One or both of the terminals 5 of the battery in a miner's lamp are surrounded by rubber sleeves 21 which are normally compressed and form gas - tight enclosures in which the spark k produced on breaking the circuit occurs. The sleeves 21 also serve to raise the insulating disc 15 and its contacts out of engagement with the battery terminals if the glass 9 is broken.
