Abstract

155,873. Haslam & Stretton, Ltd., and Jones, J. W. April 22, 1920. Battery lamps.-A miner's lamp comprises an upper portion a carrying a lens b and bulb c, and a lower portion containing a battery p. The bulb c is screwed into a holder c<1> which is carried by a rectangular frame c<2> fixed to the insulating plate d by a ring k as shown in Fig. 1<a>, the plate d being held in position by a screwed ring l. The centre contact of the lamp is connected through a spring f to a plate g in contact with one of the battery terminals, the circuit being completed by a switch r which can be brought into contact by a push r<2> with a metal tongue j connected to the other terminal of the battery. The lens b is held in place by a rubber ring b<2> and a rib a<2> on the casing. The upper and lower portions of the casing are locked together by a lead rivet q. Specification 147,994 is referred to.
