Abstract

243,767. Peel, E. Dec. 1, 1924, [Convention date]. Battery lamps.- A miners' electric lamp comprises an upper case 6 containing the bulb-holder and reflector 23 and lens 24 hinged at 8 to a lower case 7 containing the accumulator 36, spring contacts 28 adapted to connect the accumulator when the case 6 is closed down on to the case 7, and an exterior lamp switch 29A. This switch comprises a screw located in a recess 30 of the casing, and is adapted to press a leaf spring 29 against a contact 31 connected to the bulbholder. The central lamp contact is connected through a fuse to a terminal 27. A magnetic bolt in a housing 13 retains the lamp in the closed condition. Straps 39, 40 enable the lamp to be carried from the neck and waist of the user.
