Abstract

298,744. Gosmann, W., and Concordia Electrizitõts Akt.-Ges. Aug. 29, 1927. Battery lamps.-In a miner's electric lamp the accumulator casing 1 has a hinged closure 3 at the bottom through which the accumulator is inserted, springs 13 serving to press the cover 7 of the accumulator against an internal flange 14 provided in the hinged lid 2 of the casing. The cover 7 carries the electrodes 6 as shown and contact is made with springs 9 carried by the lid 2 which is also provided with a lamp-socket 10. The closure 3 has a hinged member 15 to the free end of which is pivoted a lever 16. The short arm 18 of the lever engages a projection 17 on the casing so that the closure is forced home by swinging lever 16 into contact with the casing. A hasp 19 on the lid 2 engages over a projection 21 on the casing and has a spring-pressed pin 23 which snaps into an aperture in projection 21. The lower end of hasp 19 overlaps the free end of lever 16 and the lid 2 and closure 3 are thus secured simultaneously. Release is effected by withdrawing pin 23 by means of a magnet.
