Abstract

532,827. Battery lamps. OLDHAM & SON, Ltd., and HOLT, H. Aug. 28, 1939, No. 24625. [Class 39(ii)] A portable battery lamp is constituted by two mouldings 10, 21, the former containing a secondary battery 12 and connecting studs 14, and the latter complementary terminals 23, a tumbler switch 27, lamp holder 31, spare lamp 29, and the necessary connecting conductors and comprising also an integral cowl 30. The meeting faces of both parts are sealed off so that the studs 14 and terminals 23 only are uncovered. Screws 25 engage notches in the studs 14 and serve to secure the parts together and to connect charging leads. The battery may be constructed according to Specification 460,658, [Group XXXVI], and is non-spillable having a vent 18 and a filling plug 20 on one face of the moulding 10.
