Abstract

386,400. Galvanic batteries ; twopart couplings. OLDHAM & SON, Ltd. and WILDE, W. D.,36, Hyde Road, Denton, near Manchester. Nov. 30, 1931, No. 33184. [Classes 38 (i) and 53.] A storage battery for use with miners' lamps is provided above the usual lid 2 with an insulating cover 3 in which are embedded metal members 5 connected by screws 8 to the terminal lugs of the battery and adapted to engage the contacts on the baseplate of the lamp. The two cells of the battery are connected by a metal strip 4 also embedded in the cover and connected to the battery lugs by screws. The members 5 are provided with lugs 9 for fixing them securely in the cover. The cells may have filling openings in the side walls as described in Specification 380,561 and the plugs in the openings may be provided with gas vents.
