Electrolytes.-A secondary battery of the kin] in which zinc &c. and a halogen are liberated at the electrodes on charging is provided with an electrolyte containing halide salts of both zinc and potassium, such as zinc chloride or bromide and potassium bromide or chloride together with hydrochloric acid. A small quantity of mercuric chloride may also be added. Specification 320,916 is referred to.
