335,587. Drumm, J. J., and Celia, Ltd. March 27, 1929. Electrodes; electrolytes.-The active material of the positive electrode of an alkaline storage battery consists of silver or silver oxide mixed with oxide of cerium. The usual cadmium-iron negative electrode is employed. The container is made of nickel-plated steel or of monel metal. The silver oxide may be prepared by precipitating silver nitrate with caustic soda and washing the precipitate with a hot spray of caustic soda solution.
