Electrolytes.-An electroyte for manganese dioxide cells consists of a solution of manganese chloride of 14‹ to 40‹ BÚ containing a small quantity, say 1/4 to 1 per cent, of mercury sulphate or chloride. Small quantities of potassium, sodium, or ammonium chlorides may also be added.
