Abstract
361,376. Galvanic batteries ; battery lamps ; cigar lighters. BOLOM, J., 4, Kanalskß, and HORSKY, M., 7, Tyrsova, Prague. Aug. 16, 1930, No. 24604. [Class 53.] A battery casing is provided with a lid 5 which is of step formation to provide compartments for receiving a lamp, igniter, or the terminals 6, 7 of the battery. The casing may be made of plates 1, 2, 3, which are secured together by overlying strips or plates 4 attached by adhesive &c. Figs. 4 and 5 show the compartments in the lid fitted with sockets 8, 9 for receiving a lamp and an igniter. The circuit through either socket is completed by a switch which connects the metal strips 12, 13 or 14, 15. The casing is provided with a vent 28. Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the circuit through the igniter 18 is completed by depressing the igniter against the action of a spring 19. The compartments in the lid may, as shown in Fig. 6, be used for housing the terminals of the battery and may be placed at different levels and filled with insulating composition 16. The casing may be made of insulating material or of metal in which case it may form one electrode of the battery. The casing may be of iron coated on the inside with lead provided with spaces for the active material. The terminal lugs may be conical or stepped as shown in Fig. 4 at 6 and 7 to close the holes in the lid 5 and prevent escape of the insulating composition in the lid compartments.
