Abstract

359,441. Galvanic batteries. MANLEY, J. W., 134, Woodville Road, New Barnet, Hertfordshire. July 21, 1930, No. 22012. [Class 53.] Cases.-Cells in compartments in a casing a are joined in series by spring arms 1 which are depressed into contact with the positive poles of the cells by springs 7 on the cover e, the springs 7 being in connection with plug sockets f. The arms 1 as shown in Fig. 5 are pivoted in brackets 2 which are formed in one with a member 3 which clips over the wall of the compartment and also grips a strip of metal 5 which lines the wall and bottom of the compartment, being held in the latter position by a plug 6. The cover e is held in position by a nut and screw p. Various forms of arms 1 are described but in all cases they are normally held away from the cells by springs until the cover e is held down in position on the container a. A testing bulb 9 may be connected to two sockets 10 which are connected by flexible conductors to a member 12 carrying plugs 13 which can be inserted in any pair of the sockets t. Specifications 260,322 and 310,570, [both in Class 53, Galvanic batteries], are referred to.
