[Class 53.] Cells.-A cover-plate for accumulators in which the plates are suspended by lugs from the sides of the container, is made of acidproof insulating material such as glass and is provided with slots b in two opposite sides of the cover through which the current carrying lugs of the plates protrude. The material between the slots is formed into cup-shaped covers c which enclose the small supporting lugs on the plates and isolate them from the adjacent current-carrying lugs. A filling and testing hole d is also provided.
