Connections; cases.- Adjacent cells of a dry battery are connected together by a metal band C<1> carried by an insulating strip C placed between the cells and bent at its ends to bring the metal band into contact with the terminals of the cells. Connection to the external circuit is made through terminals E, E' carried by a loose cover D. The terminal E<1> has metallic connection with a cup E<2> enclosing a spring which makes contact with the central terminal of one end-cell of the battery, the terminal E depending below the cover to engage with the zinc container of the other end cell. By this construction pressure against the apparatus with which the cell is used produces pressure on all the loose contacts. This may be further ensured by bending the strips C slightly towards one another.
