Abstract

446,376. Electric battery lamps. WISEMAN, S., 75, Paul Street, Finsbury, London. June 15, 1935, No. 17309. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric-battery lamp is provided with a casing made in two parts a, b of moulded insulating material which enclose the battery cells d, d<1> and are secured together by the lamp bulb c, the cap of which is inserted through a hole in the upper casing part a and screwed into a socket b<1> in the lower part b. A metal strip e connects the centre contact of the bulb to the metal casing of the cell d, while the bulb socket b<1> is connected to the centre contact of the cell d. A switch in the form of a metal strip slidably mounted within a guide in the part b is operated by an external projection which establishes series connection between the cells. The upper part a of the casing is dished at a<1> to receive the lamp bulb and form a reflector, a silvered member a<3> preferably being provided to increase the effect.
