Abstract
381,765. Electric battery lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. and MAYES, F. C., Magnet House, Kingsway, London. Dec. 1, 1931, No. 33302. [Class 39 (ii).] In an electric battery lamp of the kind in which the lamp circuit is completed through the bottom of the battery 13, Fig. 3, and the battery container 1 is made of insulating material, the bottom 10 of the battery container is also made of insulating material and is provided with a metal liner 14 which is adapted to engage a metal strip 5 on the side of the con. tainer to complete the circuit. As shown in Fig. 1, a switch 3 on the side of the container 1 serves to connect the metal strip 5 to a strip 4 which, at its upper end, is in contact with a conical metal reflector and bulb holder. The metal liner 11 is fitted tightly within a recess in the insulating cap 10 and projects outwardly beyond the recess so that its edge rubs over the bulged lower end of the strip 5 when the insulating cap is screwed into position. A conical spring 12 is interposed between the bottom of the battery and the metal liner 11. Preferably the casing is made of material known under the registered Trade Mark " Bakelite."
