543,725. Electric torches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., DAVIS, H., and LORD, A. Nov. 14, 1940, No. 16495. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric battery torch without a casing comprises the usual battery on the top of which slides a metal cap 4 with a spring tongue 14 which is stamped out of its side and may be depressed on to a portion of the zinc cover of the battery which has been freed from the cardboard or paper covering. By rotating the cap to move the tongue away from the exposed portion accidental closure of the circuit is avoided. The lamp holds the reflector in place and is screwed into a threaded aperture in the cap and into a clamping washer 10, the central contact of the lamp engaging the central contact of the battery.
