311,530. Webber, C. H. April 19, 1928. Battery lamps. - A vanity case comprises upper and lower parts a, a<1>, Fig. 7, hinged together at b. The upper part a is closed by a hinged plate f formed with an opening within which a mirror g is mounted and with a smaller opening f<1> through which light from a bulb h, Fig. 6, can shine. The bulb is held in spring arms i<1> of a clip i provided also with a part i<2> adapted to engage the end of the bulb, and can be engaged with the arms by a lateral movement. The lamp is disposed centrally of the width of the case above a battery i of which one terminal j<1> contacts with the metal of the case and the other j<2> is bent to engage conductive strip k insulated from the case. By pressure of a button c strip k can be caused to make contact with the terminal h<1> and so light the lamp. The case part a<1> is closed by a plate e<1> within which fits a'tray e for a powder puff &c., a hinged cover e<2> being provided therefor.
