Abstract

372,912. Loading coils; transformers. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., Caxton House, Tothill Street, and RIBER, C. R., 24, Dorville Road, Lee, both in London. April 14, 1931, No. 11024. [Class 38 (ii).] In casings for electrical apparatus such as loading coils and transformers, the junction between parts such as the body 1 and cover 4 is sealed by soldering a strip of metal 3 therearound. The apparatus to be enclosed is supported in a framework 16 bolted to the inside of the cover which is of dished formation and has a flange or outwardly projecting lugs through which are passed securing bolts 6. The latter engage lugs 2 welded to the casing, or, where the base is secured and sealed in a manner similar to the lid, the bolts engage the flange or lugs on the base. The cables 11 are led in through bushes 7 and are supported externally by clamping bars 10 carried by supports 8 bolted to the cover. The latter is provided with oil filling apertures normally stopped by plugs 14a which serve also for securing in place a metal strip 14 serving as an identification plate.
