Abstract

1283589 Posts R S JONES and G M STEVENSON 7 Aug 1969 [28 Oct 1968] 39628/69 Heading E1B [Also in Divisions G1 and H2] The base of a lamp-post is adapted to house an electricity meter, its mounting and connections (see Divisions G1, H2). The base is made from reinforced fibre glass and has internal lugs 36 hingedly connected by an intermediate link 38 to similar lugs on an anchor plate carrying the meter mounting and secured to the top of a pull box through which the electric cables pass. The post base is such as to fit snugly round the anchor plate and is bolted in position. To expose the meter, the bolts are removed and the lamppost lifted vertically before being swung over on its side.
