Abstract

1,120,620. Electric meters. DENIS FERRANTI METERS Ltd. Feb. 2, 1967 [Jan. 24, 1966], No.3040/66. Heading G1Q. A box for an electricity meter or meters has a lockable hinged door 6 with a formation such as a projecting flange 12 which engages with a complementary formation such as a groove 10 in the box, so that the closed box is waterproof. Such a box may be mounted in a wall 14 as shown. The box sides and/or back have cable entries (not shown) which may be covered by a thin pierceable skin. The meter or meters may be mounted on a board fitted in the box, e.g. a board of the form described in Specification 1,120, 619 supporting a two-rate-tariff arrangement of two meters, a fuse and a time switch. Both the box and the board are preferably of fibre glass.
