Feb. 19, 1931, No. 5288. Convention date, April 16. [Class 38 (ii).] A casing for a high reactance transformer for supplying a luminous discharge tube is formed by a pair of hood-shaped covers 2, 3 clamped by bolts 4 on opposed sides of the core 1, the centre leg of which carries the primary and secondary windings 6, 7 which are secured in position thereon by sealing compounds 9 introduced into the space between the covers through an opening 10 normally covered by a nameplate 11. The primary winding is connected to terminals 8 on one end wall of the casing whilst the ends of the secondary winding are brought out through the opposite end wall of the casing.
