Abstract
392,052. Electric transformers. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Sept. 19, 1932, No. 26037. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1931. [Class 38 (ii).] A fire-damp proof inductive coupling comprising a transformer with the primary and secondary windings mounted one on each of the separable halves 12, 13 of a magnetic core is provided with an iron keeper 17 which, when the halves are separated, is moved into position to close the magnetic circuit of the primary winding to prevent its overheating. Each half core 12, 13 is mounted in a corresponding half casing 10, 11, and the keeper 17 is yieldingly mounted in a lid 16 hinged to the casing 10 with a spring 18 to press the lid 16 into position upon withdrawal of the half-casing 11. The lid 16 is then pressed against the casing 10 by an elbow lever 19 or a screw connection.
