Abstract

610,305. Combined current and potential transformers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 24, 1944, No. 3464. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1943. [Class 38 (ii)] In a combination of two transformers, the primary and secondary windings 18, 17 of, say, a potential transformer, are interlinked by a closed ferromagnetic core 15, whilst the primary and secondary windings 25, 33 of, say, a current transformer, have separate magnetic cores 26, 32 which are electrically interlinked by a short-circuited turn or winding 28 provided by the core 15. The winding 28 comprises a copper strip with the ends bolted and brazed together. The combination is housed in a metal casing joined to an insulator for the high voltage conductors.
