Abstract

175,471. British Thomson - Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). Dec. 7, 1920. Transformers. - A tank or casing for transformers or other electrical apparatus comprises a top bend 10 drawn from a plain sheet of metal, a main body portion 20 formed from a second sheet of metal, and a bottom 12 cut from the drawn sheet. The top band is formed with pockets or distensions a, b to receive bushings or other acessories, and the top wall of the portion 20 is extended above the bottom wall of the distensions as shown in Fig. 3, for the purpose of retaining insulating-material about these accessories. The parts are preferably welded together, and the tank is closed by a cover 21 which is secured to the top band by means of bolts 23 and nuts or lifting-edges 24.
