Transformers. - To prevent access of water to an underground transformer tank, the tank 1 is provided with an open bottomed cover 3 bolted to brackets 5 and extending sufficiently below any joints. inlets, &c. provided in the upper part of the tank to ensure that water will be prevented by air trapped in the cover from rising to a level at which it may leak into the tank.
