366,791. Inductances. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. March 30, 1931, No. 9658. Convention date, April 24, 1930. [Class 37.] Pupin coils are arranged in cylindrical or polygonal containers 7 each holding more than one coil and the containers being arranged within a casing 8 which may be surmounted by a protective covering housing the joint socket 2. The coils of particular conductor groups are preferably located in separate containers, the containers being suspended from a plate 10 attached to the cover-plate 5 which is provided with the usual seal 6 for the conductors. Instead of mounting the coils in vertical columns, they may be carried in containers which can be slid horizontally into position. In a modification, the seal 6 is dispensed with, the containers 7 being themselves sealed. In this arrangement, the containers are removable through the socket sleeve after dismantling the cover 1 and socket part 2. The coils of each container may be electrostatically screened from each other by metal foil or metallized paper. The outer casing may be provided with ribs or a framework for reception of the coil containers.
