Oct. 4, 1930, No. 29742. [Class 35.] To demagnetize a generator, the field windings are divided into a number of parts which are connected in parallel across the armature to create a field opposing the residual magnetism. The field coils 1 are normally in series with the switch 3 in the upper position, but with the switch in the lower position, the parts are in parallel across the armature 2.
